Shift-MVA – Our History and Mission
Shift-MVA is a Virtual Assistant company that offers a wide range of services to businesses, such as help with their email and diary management, operational support, administrative tasks, social media management, customer service, project management, data entry, and much more. But, none of this comes without history and experience! So, in this post, I want to share a bit of background about me, Alicja Teagle – founder of Shift-MVA, and how my business has got to this point.
How Shift-MVA Began…
I was working a corporate job, but I needed some flexibility. I wanted to be my own boss, and eventually replace my corporate income. So, I started to get out of my comfort zone and put myself out there. Over time, I gradually expanded the team and started working with associates to assist me with client work and to support new clients who came along. What I enjoy most about my business today is having flexibility in my personal life, alongside a career that helps people to do their own thing in a meaningful way.
The Shift-MVA Mission
Our mission is simple… we love supporting people who would not be able to hire anyone and assisting them in growing their businesses, and generally helping people feel less overwhelmed knowing there is someone on their side. A lot of our clients set up their businesses to do what they are good at, but without having any clue how to run an actual business. We are here to fill that gap.
We offer administrative, operational and project management support to entrepreneurs and small businesses. Business owners often need someone to bounce ideas off and someone they can rely on to take care of the everyday tasks. It can be lonely at the top, and many of our clients felt they were in it alone. Shift-MVA has their back. We are a team that can be relied upon to take a process, streamline it, and then manage it moving forward.
Our emphasis is on ‘Shift | Time | Focus’ which can be interpreted as shifting clients’ overwhelm, creating more time for them to focus on what’s important to them.
Core Values and Beliefs
For us, integrity and communication are everything. I have a pet hate about over-promising and under-delivering – open and honest communication can avoid this so easily! Good customer service is also simple if you just communicate with your customers. It is so important to be honest and reliable. Do what you say you will do and warn people in advance if you won’t be able to for whatever reason.
Our Ideal Client
We have a diverse range of clients, but they generally have service-based businesses, working on their own or with small teams. They are usually overwhelmed by the level of work that goes into doing the day-to-day stuff, leaving them with no time to spend on growing their business.
The best clients are those that work hard to support themselves and their families and have a good work ethic but know they can’t do it alone. Their goal is to grow their business and earn more money to spend on travel, family, and experiences. They are often chaotically busy and need someone to whip them into shape, hold them accountable and make sure they deliver.

We can help with a broad spectrum of things including anything from social media to setting up systems for client, task, and project management, identifying the important stuff that only they can do, and holding them accountable for it! We keep the business and new projects moving forward and give business owners room to breathe and think.
